Dry Mils: 15.8 - 17.6 Mils
Coverage: 2.25 - 2.5 gallons/100 square feet

Application of AC5600 below minimum mil thickness will effect performance.
Drying Schedule @ 30mils wet @ 75% Relative Humidity:

  50°F 77°F 110°F
To Touch 90 min. 30 min. 10 min.
Tack Free (stays somewhat tacky)
To Recoat 120 min. 1 hour 30 min.
To Cure Approximately 12 hours
  • PROVIDES AN EXCELLENT SEALER for asphalt, to stop bleed through into finish coats at thin millage.
  • AC5600 Acrylic Primer is suitable when a fast drying barrier is needed as well as for mildew and chemical resistance.
  • As a base coat, the material will set the liner and double as a base for the roofing system.
  • AC5600 HD Clear is a thick waterproofing material for glass transit when a transparent material is desired. Material dries to a cloudy but transparent film to let light in.

APPLICATION CONDITIONS

Temperature:
Air & surface: 50°F minimum and rising
Material: 50°F minimum / 110°F maximum
Note: Low temperature applications will require optional catalyst to accelerate curing.

Dew point:
At least 5° above

Relative humidity:
Can be applied at relative humidities:
Up to 95%

APPLICATION PROCEDURES

Mix with an electric powered mixer until uniform consistency is achieved. ( if separated )

BRUSH:
Use nylon/polyester brush. Do not over brush as material may start to pull.

BROOM:
Use nylon/polyester split bristle soft finish broom. Pour material out and pull or push with the applicator broom.

ROLLER:
No reduction necessary. Use 1/2" to 1 1/2" nap synthetic rollers. Keep a wet edge to avoid ripping which may change appearance. Avoid rapid rolling which causes bubbling.

AIRLESS SPRAY - HIGH VOLUME:

Pressure 3,000-4,000 psi
Tip .37 - .56 reversible
Reduction None Necessay

PERFORMANCE TIPS
  • When setting liner, material will soak through the top of the liner allowing the fabric to be run dry and poured through the top. When doing this, however, it is mandatory that the polyester is completely saturated and the substrate is also saturated.
  • Rougher surfaces such as cap sheet will require the liner to be set in wet AC5600. In this case a line of AC5600 is pulled along and the liner is set in the wet material and spread out with the broom.
  • The broom acts as a giant paint brush to assist setting the liner and spreading out puddles.
  • Pay attention not to leave puddles or heavy spots. They will waste material and set considerably slower in these areas.
  • Rough surfaces will require more material. Add a minimum 1/3 galon/100 square feet to the coverage rate for granular surfaced retrofits.
  • Adequate dry time is required before dew or rain. The sun speeds drying considerably. Temperatures below 50°F will dramatically increase dry time. High humidity will also slow curing markedly, especially in the shade.
